Dharwad: Proving that the spirit of giving does not depend on wealth but on compassion, a Dharwad couple has won appreciation for using a portion of their catering business income to provide free school uniforms to children studying in a government school. Social worker Rajeshwari Manjunath Pavadi and her husband have been setting aside part of their earnings from their catering business for community welfare over the years. Continuing this tradition, they distributed free uniforms to 60 LKG and UKG students of Government Higher Primary School No. Rajeshwari, who runs “Akka Cafe” in Dharwad, undertakes catering assignments for weddings, baby showers and other family functions during holidays. The latest initiative aims to support children from economically weaker sections and encourage them to attend school with dignity and confidence.
