Listed seafront hotel plans 'sympathetic' extension of ballroom and dining hall

The proposal, which also requires listed building consent, would "improve the functionality and capacity of the hotel" and aims to "improve the overall guest experience".
The Kensington Hotel has been owned by the Beardmore family for around 30 years and boasts 50 ensuite guest rooms.
"The proposed extensions have been carefully designed to complement the scale, form and appearance of the existing hotel building.
"The proposed development provides enhanced ballroom and dining facilities together with sustainable energy improvements through the installation of solar panels.
"Overall, the proposal represents an appropriate and sympathetic form of development that supports the continued use and long-term sustainability of the Kensington Hotel while respecting the character of the existing building."
