Tuesday is partisan primary Election Day in Wisconsin. In this election, parties will choose their candidates for the fall general election. That includes state constitutional offices such as governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, treasurer and secretary of state. There are three candidates on the Republican side for sheriff — James Beller, Tony Gonzalez and David Zoerner, the incumbent. So the winner of the Republican primary will essentially be the victor for sheriff.
