The weather warning was issued by the Met Office today (Tuesday, August 11) and will come into force at 9 am on Thursday (August 13). The warning will remain in place until 11.59 pm on Thursday evening. The 'extreme heat warning' covers Birmingham and the Black Country, as well as Redditch and Bromsgrove, but does not cover Kidderminster. The Met Office said: "Very high temperatures may lead to impacts on Thursday. An amber heat health alert has also been issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), with this set to remain in place until 9 pm on Friday (August 14).
