It centres around the diya, a traditional oil lamp rooted in South Asian culture, symbolising 'hope, love, reflection and remembrance'.
"That was when I reached out to Sands and found their online support meetings for bereaved South Asian parents and families.
"I hope they help other families find comfort, connection and a way to honour the enduring love they have for their babies."
Ms Shaheda connected with other bereaved parents through Sands' online support meetings for South Asian families, who helped shape the project.
The collection includes both a traditional and heart-shaped diya, crafted by Shaheda following discussions with Sands’ Outreach Coordinator for South Asian Communities, Madhuri Bedi.
