Releasing water to Tamil Nadu under the prevailing conditions would jeopardise the interests of the state’s farmers and residents, he said. He demanded that the Karnataka government immediately challenge the CWRC order before the appropriate legal forum and present the actual water availability in the reservoirs. Govindu opposed the CWRC order.
