The Newton girls tennis team starts their season today, joining five other teams at the Knoxville Invitational. Our new incoming freshmen have really picked up the culture quickly. Frehse won the singles title at the Knoxville Invitational last year and went 5-2 in matches last season as the Cardinal’s #1 singles player, while McPartlin was 0-2. Juniors Kenzly Brant and Makenzie Clark also played singles last season and combined for three match wins and seven losses. Joining Newton and Knoxville at today’s Knoxville Invitational are Ballard, Clarke, Creston, Pella, and Saydel.
