COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — One year after breaking a Mountain West record with 231 Scholar-Athletes, the Lobos picked up 227 Scholar-Athletes, tying for the second-most in league history. Overall, the Lobos led the Mountain West for a fourth consecutive season, and for the 12th time in the last 13 years. To earn Mountain West Scholar-Athlete status, student-athletes needed a 3.5 GPA for the year. New Mexico’s 227 easily outpaced the Mountain West, as only Utah State broke 200 with 205. Football set a program record with 43 honorees, and women’s tennis set a program record with 10 honorees (the entire team).
