Joseph Webb, 36, was arrested and charged with murder after the death of 39-year-old Emma McGowan on Yewdale Avenue, Breightmet, on Tuesday, August 4. Bolton Crown Court heard this week how he is expected to be brought back for a plea and trial preparation hearing in October ahead of a trial date set for early next year. Webb had previously appeared before Bolton Crown Court on Friday, August 7, and made his first appearance before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court the day before. Webb, of Yewdale Avenue, Breightmet, is expected to appear again before Bolton Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on October 16 this year. Flowers and other tributes were left at the scene on Yewdale Avenue by well-wishers last week.
