Police were called to Market Street at 10.55pm last night (August 10) to reports of an "altercation" involving a group of people. Officers and the ambulance service and attended, with the victim suffering injuries that are not thought to be life-changing or threatening. A spokesperson confirmed that a man has been arrested and remains in police custody at time of writing. They added that enquiries are ongoing and that officers remain in the area today. Market Street was closed overnight between Francis Road and Percy Road, with motorists warned to avoid the area.
