It marks the return of the Maldwyn Meirionnydd Eisteddfod to Powys for the first time since 2015. Councillor Glyn Preston, Powys County Council’s cabinet member for a more prosperous Powys, said: "We are incredibly proud and excited that Powys will host the National Eisteddfod in 2027. "We look forward to welcoming visitors from across Wales and beyond to Glantwymyn in 2027 and showcasing what Powys has to offer." During this year’s Eisteddfod, which ended on August 8, Powys County Council and Gwynedd Council had a presence on the Pwllgor Gwaith stand (Stand 507), raising money and speaking to visitors about the plans for 2027. The last time the Eisteddfod was held in Powys was in Meifod in 2015.
