T-Mobile US completed a sale of its nationwide 800MHz spectrum portfolio to Grain Management in exchange for $2.9 billion in cash and all of the latter’s 600MHz spectrum licences more than a year after agreeing a deal in principle. At the time, T-Mobile stated the deal would let it deploy Grain Management’s 600MHz spectrum across its own network, building on gains it was making in several markets. In its statement on the completion of the deal, Grain Management noted the 800MHz spectrum covers major metropolitan markets and rural areas of the US, with approximately 14MHz of blended spectrum depth nationwide.
