AdvertisementGARDAÍ have charged a teenage male who was arrested earlier this week in connection with the seizure of a gun, ammunition, and suspected heroin in Limerick City. The teen was arrested as Gardaí searched a house at Island Road in Limerick City on Sunday (August 9), where they recovered the pistol, ammunition, and suspected drugs. This Tuesday morning, Gardaí confirmed the teen has since been charged and is due to appear before Galway District Court at 11am. It is understood that the gun was a 9mm Glock, in excellent condition, with a loaded magazine. The seizure was carried out as part of Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by former Garda Commissioner Drew Harris in July 2021.
