by WAKA Action 8 NewsCAMPAIGN 2026 (WAKA) – Voters in four of Alabama’s congressional districts will be deciding nominees for the U.S. House of Representatives in special primaries. Tuesday’s special primaries are being held in congressional districts 1, 2, 6 and 7, which cover all of the Action 8 viewing area except for Tallapoosa and Lee counties. That’s what happened in 2024, when Black Democrat Shomari Figures was elected to represent Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District. There are four candidates in the Republican primary.
