Smoke seen across Mid Wales traced to wildfire more than 40 miles away

The fire service has since confirmed it believes the smoke had travelled from a significant wildfire burning at Llangynidr Reservoir, near Ebbw Vale, which has been raging since Friday, August 7.
Smoke carried for milesThe wildfire near Ebbw Vale has grown to an estimated 400 hectares and remains one of the largest incidents currently being tackled by firefighters in Wales.
Fire crews from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service have been working together for several days to contain the blaze and protect surrounding land.
