Hoosick man charged with arson after fire destroys neighbor’s building

HOOSICK, N.Y. (WNYT)- New York State Police (NYSP) said a Hoosick man faces a felony arson charge after a fire on his property spread and destroyed a neighbor’s outbuilding.

Investigators said James R. Young, 44, of Hoosick allegedly intentionally set fire to a pile of debris on his property.
Police said the fire then spread to a neighbor’s property and caused the neighbor’s outbuilding to catch fire and be destroyed.
State Police said Young was arraigned in Schaghticoke Town Court on a charge of fourth-degree arson.
