SRINAGAR: The Food & Drugs Administration (FDA), Jammu and Kashmir, conducted 190 inspections of food establishments across the Union Territory and lifted 181 food samples for testing as part of an ongoing enforcement drive.
The inspections were carried out by Food Safety Officers across various districts to check compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and prescribed norms related to food safety, quality, hygiene and sanitation.
The samples have been forwarded to the concerned food testing laboratories for analysis against prescribed safety and quality standards.
The FDA said enforcement activities, including inspections and sampling, would continue across the Union Territory to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
Consumers have been advised to report suspected cases of unsafe or adulterated food to the toll-free helpline 104 or through email at [email protected].
