AdvertisementALL eyes will be on the skies in Limerick tomorrow (Wednesday) evening as a near total solar eclipse will hang overhead. NASA advised using eclipse glasses or a handheld solar viewer as the safest way to witness the eclipse. It warned that regular sunglasses are not classed as eclipse glasses, no matter how dark. Camera lenses, telescopes, and binoculars were also ruled out by the US space agency, citing risks of serious eye injury. The Shannon estuary was recommended as one of the best viewing spots nearby to catch the solar eclipse, along with Kilkee and the Clare coast.
