Route 125 in Andover, Massachusetts, was temporarily shut down in both directions Saturday afternoon due to a serious crash but has since reopened. Andover Fire Rescue said on Facebook at 2:23 p.m. that motorists should avoid Route 125 between Salem Street and Gould Road due to a serious motor vehicle accident. In an email update at 4:19 p.m., the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said Route 125 remained closed in both directions at Vine Street due to an earlier crash. Traffic on Route 125 was being detoured via Salem Street and Wildwood Road. Drivers were advised to seek alternate route of transportation and avoid the area if possible.
