AdvertisementTHREE giving athletes have donated over €7,000 to a vital Limerick charity after taking on the mammoth task of an almost 700km cycle from Limerick to Larne.
Cousins Alan Gill and Sam Den Dikken, with friend David Shyne, took on the gauntlet in aid of Limerick Suicide Watch, and so far have raised €7,335 for their efforts.
“None of us would have considered ourselves experienced cyclists before taking this on.
In fact, I only got my bike the day before we left, Sam borrowed his a few weeks beforehand, and David had only recently taken up cycling,” Alan joked.
“The support we received from people all over the country was unbelievable and really kept us going.”
