In government facilities, the C-section rate stood at 48.6 per cent, compared with 42.7 per cent in NFHS-5. The Rajya Sabha question noted that the national C-section rate had increased from 21.5 per cent in NFHS-5 to 27.2 per cent in NFHS-6, with private facilities recording a substantially higher rate than public facilities. The NFHS-6 data further shows that 93.6 per cent of births in J&K were institutional deliveries, while 94.8 per cent were attended by skilled health personnel.
