Vijayawada: NTR district collector Dr G Lakshmisha has directed officials to fast-track all proposed tourism projects in the district, ensuring they move beyond the Detailed Project Report (DPR) stage and are completed within the stipulated timelines. Chairing the District Tourism Promotion Committee meeting at the Collectorate here on Thursday, the collector reviewed the progress of key tourism projects and issued directions to the concerned departments. The collector also directed officials to upgrade the Amaravati Boating Club at Bhavani Island with improved visitor amenities while maintaining strict safety standards. He also called for advance preparations for Vijayawada Utsav during Dasara, directed officials to revive CIBAR Disneyland, and asked the Tourism Department to prepare proposals under the Centre’s PRASHAD scheme for the development of major temples. Regional Tourism Director YV Prasanna Lakshmi, District Tourism Officer A Shilpa, District Forest Officer A Satish, APTDC Executive Engineer G Srinivasa Rao, Devasthanam AEO N Ramesh, Amaravati Boating Project CEO Kakani Tarun, and other officials attended the meeting.
