Update shared after raids at reported brothels in Oldham see four people arrested
['Kent Lawlor']
The Oldham Times | Oldham news
Two properties in the borough were made the subjects of three-month closure orders after police identified them as brothels.
Officers attended an address on Balfour Street, Clarksfield, on Monday, July 27, where two people were arrested on suspicion of controlling prostitution for gain.
Now, Greater Manchester Police has shared that all four suspects have been bailed and phones have been seized pending further investigation.
The arrests were made after officers received information from residents, councillors, and partner agencies regarding suspicious activity linked to the addresses.
Both properties were issued closure orders, meaning it is now a criminal offence for any unauthorised individuals to enter or remain in either property for three months.
