Vijayawada: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPM] staged a protest here on Wednesday condemning the alleged police action against student leaders in Delhi, the reported raid on the party’s central office, and the alleged attempt to arrest student leader Aishe Ghosh. The party also demanded the immediate withdrawal of all cases filed against students and youth who participated in recent protests. Addressing the gathering, CPM State Secretariat member Ch Baburao and State Committee member Donepudi Kasinath alleged that the Delhi Police forcibly entered the CPM central office and attempted to arrest student leader Aishe Ghosh. The speakers also criticised the BJP leadership over its handling of student protests and called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protest was attended by CPM Central City Secretary Bhupathi Ramana Rao, West City Secretary Boyi Satyababu, East City Secretary P Krishna, and several other party leaders and activists, who reiterated that the party would continue its agitation until all cases against the protesting students were withdrawn.
