Bradford Council is following Leeds Council in announcing that they are temporarily unable to accept fridges and freezers at any of the Household Waste Recycling Centres. They say the shortage in processing capacity is a “national issue” and is affecting local authorities across the country. A statement issued by Bradford Council on Monday said: “As storage areas are now at full capacity, they cannot safely accept any further appliances. The announcement does not affect retailer take-back schemes or specialist waste collection companies. “Unfortunately, this is a national issue caused by a shortage of specialist processing facilities, and it is affecting local authorities across the country.
