Hyderabad: Stressing the need for coordinated efforts to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon, the Commissioner of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Wednesday directed officials to expedite ongoing storm water drainage works and complete them within stipulated timelines. The Commissioner, along with the Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, conducted a joint inspection of the FDDI Box Drain, Malkam Cheruvu, COD Junction, and BATA Junction to review the progress of infrastructure works. During the inspection, the Commissioner instructed officials to construct catch pits with rectangular duct sections near low-lying areas at the FDDI Box Drain to improve storm water collection and flow. At COD Junction, officials were directed to install MS grills over catch pits, while at BATA Junction, existing RCC catch pit covers in front of Bawarchi Restaurant are to be replaced with MS grills. To strengthen the drainage network, the Commissioner also ordered the remodelling of the existing storm water drain by constructing a box culvert from MK Eternal Mall to Bata Nala.
