Amaravati: The YSRCP urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to undertake a comprehensive verification of electoral rolls across Andhra Pradesh, alleging the presence of duplicate and bogus voter registrations and calling for strict enforcement of the principle of ‘One Person, One Vote.’
YSRCP general secretary and MLC Lella Appi Reddy has written separate letters to the Election Commission of India and the Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), seeking measures to safeguard the integrity, transparency and credibility of the electoral rolls during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
Referring to Kuppam Assembly constituency, Appi Reddy claimed that the party had identified 36,388 suspected duplicate and multiple voter registrations, accounting for 16.03 percent of the constituency’s electorate.
He urged the Election Commission to immediately investigate the issue and submit an Action Taken Report on the representation filed by the YSRCP on July 21, 2026.
