Nigerian music star Davido has appealed to United States President Donald Trump and the international community to closely monitor the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State amid concerns over possible violence. Addressing the US President directly, Davido wrote:“President Donald Trump, I am calling your attention to the situation in Osun State, Nigeria, as we approach the election.” He said there were increasing concerns about the possibility of violence, intimidation and disruption of the electoral process, stressing that residents of Osun State should be allowed to exercise their democratic rights without fear. “There are growing concerns about tension and the possibility of violence, intimidation, or disruption of the democratic process. The Osun governorship election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, with political parties intensifying their campaigns ahead of the vote.
