The Academy Award winner is set to lead Deadlocked, a new hostage action film that Amazon MGM Studios has picked up for worldwide distribution, with the movie heading straight to Prime Video. The project also marks the latest feature from Nikhil Bhat, the filmmaker who turned plenty of heads with the brutal Hindi-language action thriller Kill. The defendant's daughter storms the courthouse, takes everyone hostage, and launches a desperate mission to free her father. Outside of film, Foxx continues to executive produce and host Beat Shazam for Fox. Between Foxx leading the cast, Bhat calling the shots, and a premise that drops audiences into a courthouse under siege, Deadlocked has all the ingredients for a tense, crowd-pleasing action thriller.
