Registration is underway for the 2026 Richardson’s Roughwater Swim, an annual 1-mile open water race scheduled for Sept. 12 at Richardson Ocean Park in Hilo. The event is hosted by the Hawaiʻi County Department of Parks and Recreation. It is open to experienced swimmers capable of navigating open ocean conditions, including waves and currents. Entry forms must be postmarked by Wednesday, Aug. 26, and are available at County swimming pools and on the county’s Aquatics webpage.
