The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has added 11 titles to the lineup of the 51st edition and also revealed the schedule for the 2026 festival. Among the world premieres will be actor Cody Fern’s Closing Night, previously titled Mother Courage, Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, and Peter Ho-Sun Chan’s The Road Not Taken, all in the Special Presentations section. Bahman Ghobadi’s Trees are Watching will world premiere in Centerpiece. Also starring Vicky Krieps and Christian Friedel. In The Liberation, Rita (Coon), a woman in midlife haunted by the weight of her past, encounters magnetic young spiritual leader Ricki (James) and leaves her family to follow her to an all-female commune.
