As the neighborhood around it rapidly evolves, a longtime Manchester machine shop is doubling down – and then some – on its manufacturing roots. Tektonics Design Group recently kicked off a $1.2 million renovation of its facility at 702 E. Fourth St. Tektonics founder Christopher Hildebrand said that in its early years the company bounced around other parts of Manchester before landing on East Fourth Street in 2012. “We really found (Manchester) to be a great place to move to because it was still cheap and we saw that it was clearly growing. “Contract manufacturing is really a tough business line, so having Fern & Roby started giving us a lot of bandwidth.
