Visakhapatnam: The focus on arrangements for devotees participating in the Giri Pradakshina failed to streamline traffic bottlenecks witnessed in various parts of the city late at night. However, as the day progressed, the Hanumanthawaka junction to Maddilapalem stretch witnessed heavy crowds. As part of the Giri Pradakshina, devotees trek from Hanumanthawaka to Beach Road via Visalakshinagar. With both devotees and commuters using the same national highway, the entire stretch experienced heavy congestion. The command control room, which was supposed to streamline traffic, failed to serve its purpose.
