Brisbane hooker Cory Paix won’t play again this year with the 2025 premiership-winner booked in for shoulder surgery. The initial plan was to wait until the season was over but Paix will have the surgery early to give him a chance to start 2027 fit and healthy. His absence will give 32-year-old utility Billy Walters an extended run at No.9 as he targets a contract extension.
