PLANNING permission is being sought for changes at the office building which is to become Greenock’s new police station. Proposed alterations to the Ben Lomond View premises at Riverside Business Park, Pottery Street include creating a new accessible entrance to the building on the East Hamilton Street side. This would include a concrete ramp and stairs and a glass and steel canopy. It’s expected that there will be a transition period where the current Rue End Street building and Ben Lomond View will both be used operationally. Police Scotland have also said that, following ground survey and design work, plans will be submitted to build a new custody facility at the site.
