PostSource: New Zealand GovernmentThe Government is seeking feedback on proposals to future-proof and grow the organic sector by ensuring we have a strong and modern regulatory framework, Associate Agriculture Minister Mike Butterick says. “New Zealand’s wider organic sector is worth $1.18 billion, with exports of more than $606 million fuelled by global demand for premium and sustainably produced products,” Mr Butterick says. “Consultation launched today seeks further feedback on key steps for organic regulations. The Organic Products and Production Act 2023 is designed to increase consumer confidence, provide certainty for businesses, and support international trade. “Feedback from the organic sector has helped shape our new framework and the intricacies of the regulations to date.
