McKenzie, Tenn.–Jay Phipps of Phipps Pharmacy in McKenzie was named the Pharmacist of the Year by the Tennessee Pharmacists Association. This is the highest honor bestowed by the TPA to a Tennessee pharmacist for exemplary leadership, service, and dedication to the profession. Phipps earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1999 while serving as an Ensign in the U.S. Public Health Service. He founded Phipps Pharmacy in McKenzie and now serves as President and CEO of Phipps Pharmacy and PhippsCare. In addition to his professional service, Dr. Phipps has demonstrated strong civic leadership in his community.
