Hyderabad: The local unit of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert on heavy to very heavy rainfall in various parts of the state over the next two days, followed by light to moderate rainfall till August 3. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy districts of Telangana. As for July 31, the forecast is of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places over Telangana. The IMD issued a warning that heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy districts of Telangana. Data from the IMD revealed a rainfall deficit of 49 cm during June and July, attributed to the El Niño phenomenon.
