Met Eireann is placing county Tipperary and all of Leinster under a Status Yellow – High Temperature warning for a 48 hour period beginning at 6am on Wednesday. Met Éireann is forecasting Maximum day time temperatures in excess of 27° Celsius, combined with night-time minima in excess of 15° Celsius. These conditions could lead to heat stress, animal welfare issues, water safety issues due to increased use of beaches/lakes/rivers and uncomfortable sleeping conditions. High temperatures are also forecast in the UK and France with temperatures in the low to mid 30s forecast as the prolonged dry spell continues to reduce major rivers to streams, enable forest fires and cause thousands of deaths.
