Barrett’s Mountain was named after Jonathan Barrett who was born in 1722.
Because of its proximity to Barrett’s homestead, the mountain was known as Barrett’s Mountain.
After Jarman’s death, Barrett married Betsy Henderson in 1755 and had three children with her.
After visiting with Andreas Lambert on the Lower Little River, Spangenberg stopped to visit with Jonathan Barrett at the suggestion of Lambert.
Spangenberg was not impressed with Jonathan Barrett.
