The NSW Resources Regulator has reminded mining operators to implement multiple safety controls when managing vehicle interactions, following a collision between a dozer and a rear dump truck at an open-cut coal mine. The incident was found to be caused by inadequate positive communication between mobile plant operators, demonstrating the importance of effective communication, vehicle separation and operator awareness on roads and other work areas.
