Barbara Frances Walters Kirk, born in Rogers, VA, passed away August 3, 2026, at Skyline Nursing & Rehab. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Edward Walters; mother, Mildred Walters; sister, Virginia Walters Whitlow; and granddaughter, Shelby Zalanka. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Compton Zalanka; son, Howard Compton; grandchildren, Christine Kline, Amanda Meadors, Jason Meadors & wife Sydney, Justin Zalanka, all of AZ, and Kacie Compton Vanes of SC; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Walters Epperly, Mary Sue Walters West; and brothers, Eddie Walters, Nelson Walters, George Walters & wife Linda, and Roger Walters. Special thank you to Skyline Nursing & Rehab for their care of Barbara. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in any amount to be given to Cedar Springs Union Church in Barbara’s name.
