Saudi Arabia-based satellite operator Arabsat announced on Thursday it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Libya Telecom and Technology (LTT) to boost high throughput satellite (HTS) connectivity in Libya. Under the agreement, Arabsat will provide HTS capacity on Arabsat-6A at 30.5º East to support LTT’s existing and future connectivity requirements. Arabsat said the partnership will combine its advanced satellite infrastructure and extensive regional coverage with LTT’s local telecoms expertise to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable satellite communications solutions across Libya. Arabsat CEO Dr. Badr N. Alsuwaidan said the agreement also creates a platform for both organizations to explore new opportunities for collaboration, expand service capabilities, and deliver new solutions. “Through this agreement with LTT, Arabsat will provide advanced satellite capacity and satellite communication solutions that will enhance communications services across Libya, supporting the evolving needs of government entities, telecommunications operators, enterprises, and strategic and critical sectors through secure, reliable, and high-performance satellite connectivity,” he said in a statement.
