A Strathcona County resident is urging officials to take a new approach to vehicle-noise enforcement, saying loud vehicles continue to disrupt residents despite ongoing enforcement campaigns. Speaking at a Priorities Committee meeting on July 14, Matthew Bissett told council that excessive vehicle noise at the traffic circle at Crimson Drive and Charlotte Way in Lakeland Ridge has become a persistent annoyance. He said the noise can be severe enough to rattle items inside his home and disturb residents at all hours. It is simply the excessive noise that is against the law,” he told council. “So the excuse that, ‘Well, it came from the factory that way,’ that doesn’t hold any water, not according to the law.”
