The Warner Robins Fire Department responded to Village North Apartments at 135 Ignico Drive around 8:07 p.m. Aug. 10. The first engine arrived within four minutes and reported heavy smoke coming from the rear of the building. The American Red Cross said its Central Midwest Chapter Disaster Action Team responded to assist six families, totaling 15 people. Fire crews remained at the scene until about 10:33 p.m.Investigators are working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
