Credit: EmersonEmerson (NYSE: EMR) has announced a new version of its PACEdge industrial internet of things (IIoT) software, bringing artificial intelligence (AI) to the platform. The new version introduces a group management system for devices, allowing for remote control across an entire facility or enterprise. Emerson says this uplift will allow for more intuitive operation, helping users view dashboards, AI-based analytics and system updates more easily. A new app marketplace has also been added to PACEdge, providing a single space to browse all apps available for the platform. In mining, IIoT systems are used to monitor equipment, cut downtime and boost operational efficiency.
