A woman acquitted of murdering an Indigenous teenager who was chased into bushland and beaten to death with a metal pole has returned to court. Aleesha Louise Gilmore faced the West Australian Supreme Court on Monday, where she was fined $500 for breaching the conditions of a suspended sentence. Cassius was with fellow students when Brearley, Forth and Palmer intercepted and chased them into bushland. Cassius was knocked to the ground and hit in the head with a metal pole at least twice, the impact splitting his ear in half and causing bleeding in his brain. Gilmore was acquitted of the murder charge but convicted of abducting and assaulting other teenagers in the days before Cassius was assaulted.
