The family of a man who fell to his death from a tourist zipline have vented their anger over alleged safety breaches, saying it was a tragedy waiting to happen.
Dean Anson Sanderson’s loved ones say the 50-year-old father of three’s death was avoidable and should represent a “line in the sand” for safety improvement.
Family and supporters wept on Tuesday as statements were provided by Sanderson’s daughter Jessica Sugg, father Roger Sanderson and sister Emma McRae at the conclusion of a coroner’s inquest in Brisbane.
Dean Sanderson's daughter Jessica Sugg (left) described the immense pain of losing her dad.
Sanderson’s father said he had to leave the inquest at a prior hearing to cry in anger and anguish and say things he could not repeat.
