The Association of District Information and Communication Technology (ICT) coordinators in the Greater Accra region have made a passionate appeal to the government to consider providing all pre-tertiary institutions across the country with the required ICT tools and resources to promote teaching and learning. The association, however, commended the government for the efforts made so far in the provision of ICT tools in schools across the country, but called for more, especially in rural areas that lacked computers and internet services to enhance effective teaching and learning of ICT. The workshop, organised by Uniwiz Foundation, an ICT advocacy and promotional non-governmental organisation, in collaboration with the GES, had the theme “Advancing Ghana’s Education Technology Workforce.” The true drivers of digital literacy in our schools are our ICT Coordinators. She said, “new technologies, artificial intelligence, digital learning platforms, cybersecurity, networking and other emerging technologies are transforming the way we work, teach and learn.
