A new Angus Reid Institute poll shows 79 per cent of Americans view Canadians favourably, with 78 per cent saying the U.S. should approach Canada as a friend or ally.
Travel Manitoba says the province continues to see strong U.S. visitation, bucking the national trend.
Americans represent about three per cent of visitors to Manitoba, but account for seven per cent of visitor spending, with U.S. travellers often spending almost $400 a day.
Angus Reid found 45 per cent of Canadians view Americans favourably, while 48 per cent view them unfavourably.
Travel Manitoba also says more Canadians are discovering destinations closer to home.
